Castello Reale di Sarre, Aosta Valley, Italy (Part 3)

Castello Reale di Sarre, Aosta Valley, Italy (Part 3)

Located in Italy's Aosta Valley, the Castello Reale di Sarre served as a royal residence of the House of Savoy. This third installment continues exploring its interiors, decorative elements and royal traditions, highlighting the castle's role in the region's political and cultural history. Acquired in the nineteenth century by King Victor Emmanuel II as a base for hunting in the surrounding mountains, the residence retains the galleries whose decoration was assembled from the trophies of those expeditions, alongside portraits, furnishings and personal effects of the royal family. Now in state ownership, it is among the most visited monuments of the valley.
