Sant'Orso, or Saint-Ours, is a collegiate church in Aosta dedicated to Saint Ursus, rebuilt during the Carolingian era and later reshaped by Bishop Anselm into a basilica with three naves. Its cloister preserves 37 historiated capitals depicting the saint's life, while a Romanesque bell tower dating to 989 still bears traces of its original medieval structure. This second episode returns to the complex to follow its later transformations, when Gothic vaults, stalls and stained glass were grafted onto the Romanesque core, and to examine the priory and crypt that complete the ensemble, one of the richest concentrations of sacred art in the western Alps.
