Standing near the Roman walls of Aosta, the Bramafam Tower is one of the city's best-preserved medieval towers. This documentary explores its defensive role, architectural features and place within Aosta's urban development. Like several strongholds in the city, it was raised on the line of the ancient fortifications, reusing Roman masonry as a ready-made base and marking the moment when noble families took control of the old colonial perimeter. Its cylindrical mass and thick walls belong to the seigneurial architecture of the high Middle Ages, and it remains one of the clearest illustrations of how Augusta Praetoria was absorbed into the medieval town.
