Continuing the exploration of Istanbul's historic areas, this second installment delves deeper into the cultural treasures that earned the city its UNESCO World Heritage status in 1985. From architectural marvels to living traditions, the film reveals the layered heritage of a city that has bridged empires and civilisations, capital in turn of the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman worlds and a meeting point of Europe and Asia across the Bosphorus. The camera moves from imperial foundations and mosque complexes to the domestic streets and craft quarters that surround them, showing how conservation, worship and everyday urban life share the same ground within the protected historic peninsula.
