The cult of Saint Anne, mother of the Virgin Mary, spread widely through Poland and left behind churches that stand at the heart of their communities. This sanctuary belongs to that tradition. Its ordered facade opens onto a vaulted nave whose furnishings, altars, stalls, sculpture and painted decoration were accumulated over successive periods rather than delivered in one campaign, so that the interior reads as a record of shifting taste and successive patrons.
