Located on Israel's Mediterranean coast, Tel Taninim is an ancient mound overlooking the Taninim River estuary. This documentary explores its archaeological layers, coastal landscape, and historical role as a strategic settlement, revealing the deep connection between nature, trade routes, and human presence over time. The river's name means 'crocodile stream,' after animals that survived in its marshes into the early twentieth century, and a dam upstream once raised its waters to feed the aqueduct running south to Caesarea.
