아크레: 6천 년의 역사

아크레: 6천 년의 역사

Few cities on the Mediterranean have been continuously inhabited for as long, or contested as often. Acre served as the principal port of the Latin Kingdom and, after its fall, was rebuilt in the Ottoman period on top of what remained; the result is a walled town whose streets, khans and mosques rest directly on the halls, refectories and tunnels of the military orders. Excavation has opened the Hospitaller compound, the Templar tunnel running towards the sea and long stretches of medieval street, while above ground the harbour, the sea walls, the covered market and the Al-Jazzar mosque remain in daily use. Inscribed on the World Heritage List, the Old City is filmed here in 4K with aerial coverage of the ramparts and the harbour, moving between the two superimposed cities. A strong stand-alone title for heritage and archaeology strands.
