감지그라드: 세르비아 동부의 로마 궁전

감지그라드: 세르비아 동부의 로마 궁전

Seen from the road, Gamzigrad reads as a fortress: heavy walls, projecting polygonal towers, a defended gate. Inside, the plan is domestic and ceremonial - a late Roman imperial residence built by Galerius, with reception halls, heated baths, temples and floors laid with mosaics of hunting scenes, philosophers and figures from myth. The contrast between military exterior and luxurious interior is the site's defining character, and the film uses aerial and ground coverage to make it legible. Sequences follow the excavation and conservation work, the lifting and restoration of mosaic panels, and the display of finds in the regional museum at Zaječar. Recognised on the World Heritage List, the site anchors any programme on the Tetrarchy and the late empire in the Balkans, and works equally well within archaeology strands and single-site slots.
