On the western edge of the Arzachena plain lies Nuraghe Albucciu, a distinctive component of the site's ancient archaeological complex, built directly onto the side of a granite cliff near a giants' tomb. Rather than the classic conical tower, it takes the form of a low, irregular structure whose corridors and chambers are roofed with massive stone slabs and partly incorporate the living rock, an economical solution characteristic of Gallura. Traces of the surrounding settlement remain visible nearby. Together with the neighbouring monuments of the Arzachena area, it documents the Bronze Age occupation of northern Sardinia.
