魔鬼城

魔鬼城

Đavolja Varoš is a geological accident that looks entirely deliberate. On a steep, sparsely vegetated slope in southern Serbia, rainwater has carved the soft ground into some two hundred narrow earth pillars, each protected and capped by a harder stone that acted as an umbrella while everything around it washed away. The result is a crowd of figures, several metres high, that shift and collapse and re-form over decades - a landscape still in motion. Nearby, two springs of exceptionally acidic, heavily mineralised water complete the picture, and local tradition explains the whole scene as a wedding party turned to stone. The film covers the formations through the day and the seasons, with drone work that reveals the density of the field, and sets out the geology in accessible terms. A strong natural-heritage title with immediate visual impact.
