凯日马罗克城堡

凯日马罗克城堡

Most castles in the Carpathians look down on their towns from a rock; Kežmarok's sits inside the walls, the outcome of a long struggle between the burghers and the lords who wanted to control them. Built in the late Middle Ages, the castle was later softened into a residence, with arcaded courtyard ranges and a chapel replacing purely military volumes, and it still forms one corner of a remarkably intact historic town in the Spiš region of northern Slovakia. The film explores the courtyard and its galleries, the chapel, and the museum collections now installed in the rooms, then steps outside to the town itself - its market square, its churches, and the wooden articular church that is among the region's notable survivals. Aerial coverage sets the ensemble against the High Tatras. Well suited to castles collections and Central European heritage strands.
