马里乌波尔,亚速海畔的城市肖像

马里乌波尔,亚速海畔的城市肖像

Mariupol grew where the steppe meets the Sea of Azov: a settlement founded by Greek families resettled from Crimea, later transformed by the metallurgical works that gave the city its skyline, its labour force and its identity. This programme was filmed before the siege of 2022, and its value has changed accordingly. What was conceived as a city portrait — the seafront and its beaches, the theatre and civic squares, the long avenues, the port cranes, the vast industrial plants along the shore — now functions as visual record of an urban landscape that was largely destroyed. The film makes no attempt to narrate the war. It observes the city as it stood: people going to work, water traffic in the harbour, the particular light of the Azov coast, the mixture of imperial-era, Soviet and contemporary building that composed the streets. For broadcasters and platforms, it offers rare, calm, high-resolution footage of a place now known chiefly through images of ruin, and can be programmed within strands on Ukraine, on Black Sea cities or on vanished urban heritage.
