Discover the Historic Bazaar of Kashan, a showcase of traditional Persian architecture at the living heart of the city. Bustling and richly detailed, this marketplace reflects centuries of Persian culture and commerce. More than a line of shops, it is a covered quarter in its own right, gathering caravanserais, mosques, bathhouses, schools and warehouses beneath brick vaults pierced with skylights that drop shafts of daylight onto the passageways. Its most celebrated space is the Timcheh-ye Amin od-Dowleh, a trading hall crowned by a soaring honeycombed dome. Rebuilt and extended across successive periods, the bazaar remains in daily use, trading carpets, copper, spices and the rosewater for which Kashan is renowned.
