オシュ・バザール(ビシュケク)

オシュ・バザール(ビシュケク)

Markets are where a society shows its hand, and Osh Bazaar is one of the busiest in the Kyrgyz capital. The film enters at opening, when crates are unloaded and produce is stacked into the geometric pyramids that vendors rebuild every morning, and stays until the last transactions of the afternoon. Aisle by aisle, the programme maps the bazaar's internal order: fruit and vegetables, mountains of dried apricots and raisins, sacks of spices and grain, butchers and dairy sellers, then the drier goods — bolts of cloth, felt, embroidery, headwear, tools and household wares. Alongside the merchandise, the film gives space to the people: traders who have held the same pitch for decades, porters moving loads by hand, buyers who negotiate as a matter of habit. Central Asia's caravan past is not invoked as folklore but recognised in a living commercial culture. Filmed in 4K with immersive natural sound.
