Two sequences, one rhythm. The film opens in Wat Choum Khong, a compact monastery in the historic core of Luang Prabang, where a walled garden of clipped shrubs, statuary and shade trees surrounds a sober ordination hall. Inside, gilded Buddha images and lacquered woodwork catch the low morning light; outside, young novices sweep the courtyard and set out for the alms round. The camera then follows the town waking up. Within a few streets, the morning market takes over the pavements: river fish and herbs, bamboo shoots, sticky rice, chillies and greens spread on low tables, buyers on foot, the whole exchange concluded before the heat arrives. The pairing is deliberate — monastic discipline and domestic economy are the two clocks by which Luang Prabang runs, and both belong to the World Heritage town.
