The Trinity Cathedral is among the most recognisable: a monumental neoclassical composition with columned porticoes and a group of domes painted deep blue and strewn with gilded stars, a colour scheme unique in the city's skyline. It stands in a district historically tied to the imperial guard, and its scale was meant to answer that role. Inside, the space opens white and luminous under the central dome, organised for a large congregation. Damaged and restored more than once in its history, the cathedral is today an active place of worship.
